Before, it said that the equipment had to follow a Danish rule on safety requirements. Employers and trade unions can still agree how they share the costs of work clothing and protective footwear. This does not apply to protective equipment in category III of the EU regulation. Before, that exception referred to a Danish rule from 1996. The rule on protective equipment that came onto the market before 1 July 1995 has been removed. The penal provision only mentions orders, not prohibitions.

The municipality pays a subsidy on top of the wage. It is called a flexible wage subsidy. The subsidy is set at 98 per cent of the highest amount of unemployment benefit per month. The subsidy becomes smaller when you earn more. It falls by 30 per cent of your wage until you earn 17,672 kr. per month before tax. Pension contributions count. Wages above 17,672 kr. reduce the subsidy by 55 per cent. Your wage, your subsidy and certain other benefits together must not be higher than the wage ceiling. If they are higher, the subsidy is reduced by the amount that is over. The wage ceiling is the wage you would get on full time in the same job. Your employer states the amount. The subsidy is paid in arrears each month. If your wage changes afterwards, the subsidy must be corrected. This can happen for up to 12 months. Remuneration and allowances for volunteer firefighters and volunteers in emergency preparedness are not deducted from the subsidy.
Who: The rules apply to people in flex jobs and to the municipalities that pay the subsidy.
