Forslaget har til formål at ændre takster for en række afgiftsbelagte kontrolopgaver på fødevare- og dyrevelfærdsområdet. I fødevareloven foreslås det at nedsætte takster for kontrolkampagner og justere takster for kontrol med kosttilskud samt Fødevarestyrelsens rejsehold. Derudover indsættes en bemyndigelse til at undlade opkrævning af takster for at sikre balance mellem indtægter og udgifter. I dyrevelfærdsloven hæves taksterne for kontrol af dyrevelfærd for grise og kvæg for at finansiere øget kontrol, som aftalt i dyrevelfærdsaftalen fra 2024.
