Anonymous visit counts

We count anonymous page views so we can see what is being read. This happens without cookies, without your IP address and without storing anything on your device, and we cannot recognise you from one page or visit to the next. For each page view we only store: which page, the language, the time and the domain of the page you came from (e.g. google.com – never the full address).

If you have turned on "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" in your browser, we do not count you at all. The counts are sent to Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore, EU), collected from there into our own database and deleted in Firebase.

If you do not want to be counted, you can turn it off (your browser remembers the choice locally). Turn it back on.

Your browser remembers locally (in "local storage" on your own device) which articles you have rated thumbs up or down, how many reports you have sent in the last 24 hours, and whether you have opted out of the visit count. This is only used to avoid duplicate answers and spam, is not sent to us and can be deleted by clearing your browser data.

When you report an article or rate it thumbs up/down

We only store what you send:

  • which article it concerns, and whether you read it in Danish or English
  • your choice (thumbs up/down or the category: factual error, something important is missing, hard to understand or praise)
  • your text, if you write one (at most 1,000 characters)
  • the time

We do not ask for your name or email, and we do not store your IP address in our data. Please do not write personal information in the text.

The report is sent to Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore, located in the EU) and collected from there into our own database, after which it is deleted in Firebase. As a technical provider, Google may log technical data about the connection (such as IP address and browser) under its own terms. We use the reports to correct errors and improve the articles.

A report about a factual error or something important that is missing is checked against the official source, also with the help of AI (Claude by Anthropic). Only the article, the source and your text are used in the check. Reports about the government's promises and about the site are handled by the editorial team in the weekly review.
