Forslaget overdrager Investeringsfonden for Færøerne til de færøske myndigheder. Investeringsfonden blev oprettet ved lov i Folketingsåret 1963-64, og fonden har siden 1976 være administreret af de færøske myndigheder. Fondens aktiver er ifølge lovforslaget på 653 mio. kr. Regeringen og Færøernes Landsstyre indgik i januar 2024 en aftale om at overdrage fonden til Færøerne. Lovforslaget overdrager ansvaret til Færøerne pr. 1. januar 2025. Lovforslaget er behandlet på Færøerne.
